PayMaya Philippines, Inc. has released a brand new feature in their official mobile app that caters to crypto trading. The new rollout allows account holders to buy and trade cryptocurrencies within the app and work with partner platforms like Coinbase and PDAX to streamline transactions.
According to reports made by The Paypers published last April 6, the new update is part of PayMaya’s initiative to go beyond traditional means of payments by making crypto investments a more accessible venture. Clients no longer have to make additional payments or open accounts with other platforms to buy and trade digital currencies.
Coinbase supports crypto investors in the Philippines and has further extended its services by working with PayMaya as a partner to improve the crypto trading experience as users enjoy the benefits of the new feature. The Philippine Digital Asset Exchange (PDAX) is also one of PayMaya’s partner platforms.
PayMaya President Shailesh Baidwan shared his excitement about the new development along with the potential of bringing crypto further into the Philippine setting.
‘We’re excited to offer this new feature to our users, especially as more Filipinos become increasingly interested in cryptocurrency. Being at the forefront of digital payments and financial services, offering crypto is a natural expansion for us as we build the Philippines’ most accessible end-to-end money platform’, Baidwan shared.
Once users log into their PayMaya mobile app, they will be able to see an icon that will allow them to choose the cryptocurrencies they want. Additionally, they can cash in, buy, sell and even learn more about investing in digital assets.
As of now, PayMaya app offers a selection of tokens users can choose from. These include cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Cardano (ADA), Chainlink (LINK), UNISWAP (UNI), Solana (SOL), Quant (QNT), Polkadot (DOT) and Polygon (MATIC). More options will also be included soon, according to reports made by Coin Telegraph.
PayMaya is one of the most in-demand payment providers and financial services platforms in the Philippines. According to Tech in Asia, PayMaya has more than 44 million users as of last December 2021 and the numbers are predicted to grow now that crypto transactions are being supported.
