Payment processing platform Strike is now offering an expanded service that will make salary to Bitcoin conversions possible. The new feature will allow recipients to have their paychecks partially or fully deposited in BTC to their crypto wallets, eliminating unnecessary transactions or conversions.
The feature called ‘Pay Me in Bitcoin’ is available on the Strike platform and crypto wallet. Users simply need to register for these accounts and they will be eligible to use the new feature. Moreover, it has zero transaction fees and eliminates the hassle for employees to receive their payroll through fiat currency and convert it manually to crypto.
Strike CEO Jack Mallers also spoke with Bitcoin Magazine in an article published on October 14, expressing his excitement about the new service.
‘You don’t have to work for a special company, you don’t have to convince your boss to like Bitcoin, you don’t need to nag your CFO to put Bitcoin on the balance sheet. All you need to do is share your Strike account details and configure your Pay Me in Bitcoin split’, Mallers added.
The new feature aims to make the conversion process easier for its recipients, but it also eliminates the need for employers to adapt. Countless companies are not yet willing to take the leap and support Bitcoin as payroll. Instead, the investors interested in it may do so individually with their Strike wallets and personal accounts.
Strike has recently been under the spotlight for being one of the key players in El Salvador’s journey to adopting Bitcoin as legal tender. The latest development with the new payroll feature is a new step in their payment plans and services.
However, Strike is not the first platform to offer this feature. Coinbase also launched a similar announcement on September 28 where paychecks can be deposited into the Coinbase platform directly.
Some of the other developments that Strike has taken part in include Twitter’s Bitcoin tipping feature and the recent adoption of Bitcoin as the legal currency in El Salvador.
