July 2021 marked a significant moment in NBA history with the Portland Trail Blazers securing a partnership with crypto cashback provider StormX. It is the first International Rights Partner of the team as part of the NBA’s International Team Marketing Program.
The NBA is currently wrapping up the playoffs and will soon begin the NBA finals. The Portland Trail Blazers will be wearing their new and improved uniforms with the StormX logo and Nike symbol in the next season.
In a tweet by the Portland Trail Blazers on their account, they called the partnership fresh, groundbreaking and revolutionary. ‘We’re excited to announce we are joining forces with StormX, the first cryptocurrency patch partner in the NBA!’
President of the Trail Blazers Chris McGowan also released a statement, saying, ‘StormX is a fresh, energetic company with Pacific Northwest roots that can educate and motivate Rip City around cryptocurrency and earning Crypto Cashback’.
However, the partnership doesn’t stop there. StormX will also work with the Trail Blazers in the next few months to create their very own non-fungible token. This will be based on the basketball team’s gameday poster series that fans can get for themselves.
Additionally, StormX’s blockchain services can innovate Blazer’s ticketing and fan database, making each transaction more secure for their fans.
StormX (STMX) was first founded in 2015 and has since maintained a steady performance in the market, quickly becoming one of the cryptocurrencies to watch. It has its own app with over 3 million users worldwide and is supported in several crypto trading platforms. Moreover, the cashback program that StormX offers has attracted many crypto investors.
Their latest partnership with the NBA will be effective next season and will make history as the first cryptocurrency jersey patch partnership in history.
Many different sports teams worldwide have also signed deals to work with companies in the crypto industry. Earlier this year, cryptocurrency exchange FTX partnered with the Miami Heat earlier this year and crypto platform Crypto.com secured a multi-million deal with Formula One last March.
